The NYC Wine and Food
Festival 2015 will be a whirlwind of food and drink events held to benefit the Food Bank for New York City, www.foodbanknyc.org and the No Kid Hungry Campaign, www.nokidhungry.org. There will be roof-top and
late night celebrations, formal dinners, brunches, cocktail events, wine
tastings, panel discussions, seminars and culinary demonstrations with some of our
country’s premier celebrity chefs. Participants will include chefs, Mario
Batali, Carla Hall and Michael Symon, whom we enjoy on ABC TV’s “The Chew”, Rachel Ray, Emmy Award winners; Martha Stewart, Lydia Bastianich, Ming Tsai and Giada De Laurentiis. De
Laurentiis will be hosting an outdoor, roof-top Italian food festival evening
at Pier 92, on the Hudson River and acclaimed chef Alice Waters, of the iconic
Chez Panisse, will be hosting an intimate Farm-to-Table dinner on the 51st
floor of the Bank of America Tower, featuring a panoramic view of Manhattan.
On Friday, October 16th,
Southern Wines and Spirits of New York will host an invitation only tasting event for
chefs, wine and spirit sellers, restaurateurs and others in the trade.
The Grand Tastings will be
held on Saturday and Sunday, October 17th and 18th, at
Pier 94. The public will be able to experience dozens of food and wine samples,
at the booths of numerous participating restaurants and food businesses, as well as food
preparation demonstrations by favorite, well-known professionals throughout
both days.
Other chefs who will be
participating in the NYC Wine and Food Festival will include such luminaries as Dominique Ansel, inventor of the Cronut, John Besh, Bobby Flay, Tyler
Florence, Jacques Torres, Alain Ducasse, Emeril Lagasse, Jean-Georges
Vongerichten, Marcus Samuelsson, David Bouley, Masaharu Morimoto, Jonathan
Waxman and many more. Entertainment
industry professionals, Whoopi Goldberg, Valerie Bertinelli, Katherine Heigl,
and Patti La Belle will be participating in food events.
